China is Testing an Electric Train That Drives With No Track

The latest form of electric transportation being tested in China is unlike anything that’s ever been seen before: a train that runs on a virtual track.

As you can see in the video above, the trackless trains can seat more than 300 people, and their ability to drive on regular streets with minor modifications means they can be deployed quickly, without any need for track to be laid down. Essentially, they can seat people as if it were a streetcar, and drive as if it were a bus.
